CWTCH- meaning "safe place/haven or a little cuddle" in Welsh this is at the centre and is "heart"of Kitewood.
Within there are 2 showers, a washing up area with 2 washing up sinks and drainers, all with as much hot water as you'll ever need. They turned out to be a great success and there will be more information on these further in the site. They are made from recycled bulk Orange juice containers and are awesome!
This is a few yards away from the covered communal area where there is an information board. Picnic tables and benches.
Wash HouseThe Wash House is across the track from the Cwtch and houses our dishwashing sinks. Again hot water abounds and the range of facilities mean that you will rarely be queing.
Off grid electrically-Whilst we have plentiful hot and cold water the site is off grid electrically so we have no fridge or mains power to charge items. There will be Ice available on site for you to use in cool boxes so keeping things shouldn't be a problem.
Toilets-There is a "ipoo" composting toilet on each pitch.
Beach gearIn the covered communal area where we teach bushcraft during the day there are a few items of beach kit that we lend out on a first come first served basis this includes, body boards, buckets, spades and rock pooling nets. These are available on a free "fair usage" arrangement, but are not guaranteed as it depends on how many people want to use them.
FirewoodCampfires are really important at Kitewood and you can’t have fire without wood.
Fortunately we have plenty of it stacked up at the car park for you to use. It is included in the
price of your stay.
Sheltered Camp Fire areas
Each pitch has it’s own sheltered camp fire area complete with a fire pit, grill and picnic table.
So if it ever rains (in Wales, never! I hear you cry) you can still be warm and toasty around
David, Sarah and "Penny "are living on site and will welcome you in personally and will
answer any questions and supply bountiful information on not only the flora and fauna but
also all aspects of places to go and things to do in the area. Penny is a small dog and is the
only dog allowed onsite, so sorry we don't accept other pets.
